I had one of those "DUH" moments yesterday. I had been on vacation for about 2 weeks or so. Right before I left, I made a few pens. Apparently, I forgot to put the lid back on the container I keep my MM in. When I went into the garage yesterday, it WAS FULL OF MOSQUITO'S!!

The lesson learned. Always put the lid back on the container of water that you keep your MM in!

LOL .. sorry, I shouldn't laugh ..but it makes a good mental picture.

Throw some bleach in there and let it sit. It'll kill any eggs. Then you can
throw them in the washer without contaminating anything else.

"Hey Jon .. why is your hand all bumpy?"
"Oh that .. I was sanding a pen"

I don't recall ever seeing mosquito larvae in my mm storage container. But then I always put a good squirt of blue dawn dishwashing liquid in when I change the water to break the surface tension and let any particles fall to the bottom, so they don't contaminate the next sheet when I take it out. Maybe it acts as a mosquito repellent too. I know that it works as a good case hardening agent when mixed with jet dry, and a couple of other handy household chemicals. Even mild steel will hold an edge for a while when quenched from orange hot in the mix.
