I know y'all are probably tired of my relentless and dumb questions, but I'm trying to learn all I can so please continue to bear with me.

What size do you cut your mm sheets to for best use?

Is it better to use mm padded or just use the finger backing method like I have been doing?

I know these are "preference" type questions, but your opinions and replies help more than you know.

Forgot to mention that but I write the grit sz with a permanent marker [:)].

I do the same as Lance and William. I use the wife's netted lingerie bag for washing them in the washing machine. I tried putting them in my blue jeans pockets but they fell out and I spent an hour picking them out of the clothes.

edit:
oh I forgot - don't put them in the dryer!!

I just spent the evening in the shop tearing my MM into strips and numbering it and then pouring my finishes into little plastic bottles. Somehow I did not get the "productive" satisfaction I normally get when my lathe is running [:o)]

I refer to that as "puttering around the shop". I really enjoy puttering.

I trim the sheets to fit the little rubber block that comes with the kits. I have better success at not pressing too hard when I use the rubber block. This stuff seems to last forever if you keep it clean. A couple of blasts with compressed air will blow off most debris...quick and easy.
