Here are two bud vases I just turned out of Marblewood. The shape was kind of determined by the size of the blank I used (3" square X 6" long). I would have liked it to be more round on the bottom I was concerned it would be too light.

The finish, which I really like, was achieved by sanding in both rotational directions down to 400, two coats of sanding sealer, and several coats of Milan's Friction Polish applied at 250 rpm and then polished at 1200 rpm.

Got some great help from Dieseldoc who had the right size drill, made me a couple of very nice glue blocks, and made me a aluminum rod for holding the vase with a collet chuck. A great friend and teacher!
