Hey fellers,I haven't been around much cause I have been trying my hand at some woodturning wizardry. So far I have only tried to make a singapore ball, total failure up to this point.I was about halfway throught drilling the holes, when I slid the tailstock back to pull the bit out the drill chuck slid out of the morse taper. For about a half second the chuck was being flung around by the drill bit still stuck in the ball going 1000rpm.Got lucky it was flung to the floor and not through the air in my head.

Glad you posted the link. Sounded a little naughty without it.

The drill and chuck on my metal lathe are notorious for coming out as I withdraw the tail stock. Holding it with a gloved hand is automatic for me. I got hit by a flying chick and drill. It was not fun. Glad you weren't hurt.
