I'm still working on getting my shop organized and placing equipment. My need is to centrally locate the dust collector and not have too much noise in the room just at the tool itself.

I installed room air conditioners in an office window and the turning room window. I would like to locate the dust collector for the turning room outside the room but the concern is about loosing the cool air through the dust collector to another room.

Anyone have thoughts on possible solutions of retaining cool air in the turning area?

Really no way around it if it's going to be located in another room. You're going to be sucking xxx cu ft of air conditioning out of one room and sending it to another. Unless you build a box with sound baffles and keep the DC in the same room, you're going to lose that cool air.

I built a small closet in the corner of my shop for the DC. Keeps some of the noise down.
My duct runs from the corner on two walls to the equipment. Window a/c is in the other corner.
