aloha y'all :-)

here are some pens i've been working during the last 2 bubbasville's and in-between (we had a bubbasville this past sat and tonight[tue]):

from left to right:

curly koa w/rho & blkti sierra
curly koa w/gold ti baron
curly koa w/blk ti baron
curly koa - sapwood w/gold baron
curly koa w/plat baron
curly koa w/rho & gold ti emperor
curly mango w/gold ti sierra

all finished w/CA...i have been collecting hawaiian woods during my trips to hawaii for the past 6 years...and if you can't tell, i really do like curly koa :-)

come to the penturners track at the annual texas woodturning symposium - SWAT, 09.29 thru 10.01, for more info goto www.swaturners.com ...no other woodturning symposium has a dedicated track for penturners, this is our 2nd year for such a program!

G'day Jeff they look fantastic mate!I like the emperor it is standing up there like its the king of all pens. p/s When I go touring in the outback I also borrow/collect wood for the fire[;)]for/pens[[:0]it helps keep Australia beautiful.

It really makes one aware of how many different shades the same wood can look.
I'm looking forward to a closer look at the Mango.
 
I saw a couple of these pens last night at Bubbasville. They are beautifil pens. That curly Koa is great. That is my first Emperor to see in person. It is BIG!!!

and for steve, this is koa that i brought back in 2000 & 2005...i haven't touched any of those penblanks i got from you as of yet (although a few have found their ways to a couple of other shops ;-)
