Guys and gals of the IAP,

I owe you all a huge THANK YOU! As time time here comes to an end (be home in 9 days or less) I know that you guys and gals of the IAP made this deployment easier for me. Seeing pictures of your pens, casts, finds, and what not kept me going day after day.

We have one night of work left after tonight night, a few days after that we will be at a transition base for a few days. Then well I get to see my family. I have already been warned by my Wonderful Wife Melissia, not to even look at my lathe for the first few days. Once I am released to start turning again, watch out.

Right now, I have two count downs going. One to return to Ga from this deployment, and the other is to return to the Houston area, Sept 22, I go on Terminal Leave as my 20 years in the Air Force comes to an end also. I will start a new chapter in my life going to school for nursing Jan 2015.

Again guys, Thank you. I dont know how I would spent my down time here in Afghanistan if it wasnt for you guys. I have a ton of ideas and will start casting when I get home....

Congrats and THANK YOU to you, not to us. Have a safe journey home!

P.S.
All of the branches need to come up with a new term for exiting the service....."terminal leave" has always bugged me. It just seems so negative, especially for those who do not know what it really means.

We all have that countdown Mike...23-10-3 was mine. If I'm not mistaken, we talked about some cebloplast I have in a color more suitable to your branch of the service.
Now...nursing!? Oh well, I won't hold that against you :wink::tongue:. Good thing too...I can't stand poop!:biggrin::biggrin:
