Not as exciting this week as last. We expected the bear to reappear on Wednesday, trash day but he didnt show. Today we had 7 little guys in the back yard. These pictures were taken at the same side of the pool deck where the bear was last week at about 6:30 am this morning.

mmmmmmm Bacon

They run wild but and are somewhat cautious of us but didnt run away as we got closer taking pictures. They do have larger relatives roaming about in the woods but we rarely see them.

Feral pigs are a real mess for the environment. They breed year round, destroy a lot of crops or natural vegetation and are smart. Once established their number will grow to alarming numbers. We had an infestation back East and it took four years to get them under control. Cute is in the eye of the beholder but tasty is forever.

It looks like you must live in a wildlife wonderland. It has to be awesome seeing all of this wildlife in your back yard. I know the feral pig population in Florida is quite large. I heard the bigger ones can get a bit on the nasty side if you scare them?

Yes they can get quite large and they can get real mean. I have 10 acres on the edge of 700+ acres of state protected wetlands. We had a deer pop through but to quick to snap a picture later in the day.

Yes there is no season on hog and since they are on my property they are fair game. So to speak.

I would be talking to the DRN there is Fl to see what can be done. One/Two that is cute. Seven is a red flag in my book. You see them......how many are hiding in the brush? Any bigger and the pets could be in danger also.

Of course, you could have the 1st anual IAP Bar-B-Q later this summer.
