Should have known it is Bristol.... Kyle!!! Going to take down Jimmy Johnson in Sprint for championship.

A few talk about Sprint Cup, who do you all root for?

I spent years rooting for Kyle Petty, decided to stick with a Kyle (when he left the #5 Satan team)

Been a Bobby Labonte fan as far back as his Bush days, haven't followed racing in a while but still will watch a race every now and then if not busy with a show or getting ready for one.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Richard Petty fan. The King will reign forever. I now root half-heartedly for Dale Jr. these days but I will cheer 100% for anyone to beat Kyle Busch.:biggrin::biggrin::smile::smile::wink::wink:

Jimmy, I rooted for Petty Enterprises for years, then when it became Richard Petty Motorsports and what Kyle Petty said about it, I couldn't support it. I started liking Busch when he became the bad guy. And have stuck with him.

Kyle better watch out next year, Danica coming and will clean his clock. Been around racing all my life, Kyle Bush has more talent the most of the others. That being said he is also the most immature one of the bunch .Back in the day of the Foyts, Unsers, Waltrips, Earnhardt's, Joe Gibbs would have gone broke building new cars for Kyle. He would have spent most of his time being scraped off the wall or upside down. Danica will make a lot of money in NASCAR but will not have the success. NASCAR is so competitive. She has talent but she is more hype than great. I could wrong and it would be fun if she was competitive in a year or so but looking at the other Indy drivers that made the switch not much chance. The only one who has had success is Tony Stewart. Notice Mark Martin didn't come around to congratulate Ms Bush.

Not sorry to say, I am still a David Pearson fan, and always will be. And it was great to meet him and have him drive one of his '69 Talladegs that we restored up here a few years back

You are completely right about that. RPM has been an abyssmal failure. I've been following Richard since 1960. I remember Earnhardt Sr, as a rookie when nobody paid any attention to him.

Busch is a great driver. It's his questionable immaturity that gets to me. It's too bad that commercialism has (IMHO) destroyed the NASCAR that I enjoyed. I used to go to about 10 races a year. Loved everything about it. Even drove one of Petty's cars for three laps at Pocono. Got up to 180 mph......WOO HOO!!!!!!
