I saw some postings a while back about the pro's and con's of using a foot switch to power a DP.
I solved the problem of needing three hands by constructing a foot pedal with a cable which connects to the quill lever through a series of pulleys. After I turn the DP on manually, I can hold a piece with both hands and lower the drill bit into the work by depressing the foot pedal.
If anyone is interested, I can post some pictures this weekend.
