I am turning/donating 50 center-band "Thank You" pens to a local woman who is raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project charity. Last year she gave small gift bags to her sponsors (Raised about $11,000 by running 84 miles; 5 miles every 4 hours!). This year she is going to run 120 miles this fall. I told her I would donate these for her gift bags.

These kits are available at Exotic Blanks.

Considering the nature of the charity, I am using wood obtained from (Some woodturners, some not; some IAP some not):

An Air Force Pilot
A West Point Graduate (Army)
A retired Marine Veteran
A Retired Navy Veteran
A Retired Foreign Paratrooper

While I did not serve in the military, between my wife's family and mine we count over 100 veterans, spouses and children who attest that retired veterans and those with PTSD need assistance. My daughter also works as a Neurology PT at the Cincinnati VA.

I hope to have the final 25 done by the end of March.

Great job Mark. I usually only have 40 that I donate to our local VFW for their veterans day event. It's alot of work but well worth the time. If you need any help with wood or anything else let me know.

Mark, you have a heart like a lion.
Half a dozen of those fine pens would be a great donation, but 50 real quality pens, that's brilliant.
I take my hat off to you, Sir.

Alan
