IT IS TIME TO "Get it Done"

Fast Speedy Quick Hot Nimble Swift Dashing Supersonic

If those words describe you, then this contest is right up your alley!

GET IT DONE ENTRY FORM (not yet ready)

In addition to the Universal Bash Guidelines, the contest rules are as follows:

You will have only one (1) (not 2) (uno) week to submit your entry starting on Monday the XXX of February and ending on Sunday the XXX of February 2017. That is right you only have one week to make and enter your pen into this (THE BEST) contest.

So you will need to GET IT DONE!

Officially it will start whenever I get around to posting the specific DETAILS (below) sometime during the morning on Monday (probably around 9 A.M. Eastern Time) the XXX. It will end on Sunday night the XXX at midnight – based on the International Date Line, so everyone can have the full use of the weekend to finish up this speedy project.

PLEASE PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE RULES. REREAD THEM A FEW TIMES IF YOU PLAN TO PARTICIPATE. I HAD TO TURN SOME PENS AWAY LAST YEAR THAT WERE TOO FAR AWAY FROM THE DETAILS AND RULES.

The DETAILS: For this contest each person must make 2, DOS, TWO pens using:

1)PLEASE READ THIS PART CAREFULLY!!! The CATCH this year is that the pens have to be a set. But NOT an identical set. I am a looking for OPPOSITES, HIS/HER, YIN/YANG sets.
Example 1) Pen#1 from top to bottom is white, red, and blue while pen #2 from top to bottom is Blue, then red, then white (each also follows the guidelines in steps 2 and 3 below).
Example #2) Pen #1 is mainly white (but follows the guidelines in step 3 below) and pen #2 is mainly black (but follows the guidelines in steps 2 and 3 below)
Example #3) Pen #1 has a pattern of colors oriented in a horizontal fashion, Pen #2 has the same pattern of colors but is oriented in a vertical fashion (Each follow the guidelines in steps 2 and 3 below).

2)2 IDENTICAL ball point pen kits for the components from the following list:
Cigar, Big Ben, and other cigar clones
Sierra, Aero, Le Roi, Compson, Diplomat, Elegent sierra, Gatsby, or clones
Atrax
Concava
European
Executive, Glacia
Long Click
(There are others that would be acceptable - read below)

The idea is a pen without extra stuff or bling. Kits I DO NOT want to see are things like: Bullet pens, bolt action, Music, American Patriot, Bald Eagle, Diva, Celtic, Civil War, Cowboy, Crown Jewel, Dragon, Fillibella, Faith Hope Love, Fly Fishing, Gear Shift, Gothic, Knight's Armor, and the list goes on . . .

If you are at all uncertain what kit is acceptable, please PM me or post a question below.

3)The pens must be made from segmented blanks with these contents: (I will do my best to pick generic/basic items that most everyone is likely to have)
a. some sort of XXX
b. XXX separate pieces
c. Some type of XXX

The Rules:

1. This is a pen contest: your entry must be made completely by you.
2. Only 1 entry per member.
3. Sorry, no modifications to the kit/compenents.
4. You are allowed up to 3 pictures. The only props allowed are simple clear (these are usually made of acrylic) pen stands. The background of the picture should be a solid color. No mirrors, blocks of wood or other items. The pictures must be uploaded to the link provided in the entry form above. Please Do Not Enter Submissions In This Thread.

5. Pictures, videos, or other representations of your pen are NOT to be posted anywhere (Facebook, your own website, etc) until after the results of the final voting have been published here on the IAP.

6. Bribes, graft, hush money, and inducement may be accepted in the form of shredded money blanks. . . . (You guys really stunk at this part last year - one person offered to give me a kiss, but I wasn't going to drive to North Dakota for that . . .)

The poll for voting will be posted on the morning of the XXX of February 2017 and will close on the morning of the XXX of February 2017. Voters will be encouraged to cast their vote based on: workmanship, use of materials, overall appearance of the pen.

The prizes will be as follows
First: TBD
Second: TBD
Third: TBD

Draft #1 of the 2017 Get It Done contest rules.

Could some of you please read DETAIL #1 to see if it makes sense?

I was thinking this year for the participants to make a set of pens, not identical, but ones that kind of mirror each other. Like a yin/yang or his/her.

Would making 2 pens be too much?

Let me know your thoughts.

So;
Example 1) is two identical horizontal segmented blanks with one used upside down

Example 2) a modified white cigar with a pink center band and a modified black cigar with a blue center band

Example 3) a black pen with a thin blue center band and a black pen with a thin blue segment running vertically (nib to finial)
