We will have the following contests this year.

Other contests may be added if we have someone who wants to run them.

There are 2 contests that need a chair at the moment.
advanced kit, and the Box/ Pen stand contest(s)

You can pick one And we will start from there.
We have at least one more member joining us shortly. I will take what ever is left over after he chooses.

Each of you needs to make a thread with your contest rules and time lines. August 1st will start the contests and they should run 2 to 3 weeks, except for Edgars contests.

You will need to decide the maximum photos allowed, any criteria they have to follow.
Ending date and time. Any limitations such as who makes what and what machinery they can use. (this is usually cnc, laser, printer, etc)
There is a universal Rules link I will put in each contest.
We will award 3 places in each contest. Prizes may or may not be known until we go live. Prizes come in at the last moment and I may have to reschedule the prize structure.
You should be able to see the past rules in The archived subforums in the Activities Manager forum. If you cant let me know and I can copy and paste them in your threads and we can edit them as needed.
I would like to have all contest rules ready for publication by the First of July for public debate and Input.
 
Also We do not use an entry form in the SE. Pictures and member info will need to be emailed to you. You will need to respond to each entry to let them know you received it.
We have lost entries in the past.
At the end of the contest you will need to upload the pictures and post a poll for voting.
You can post the pictures in the poll if you want but a better way is to post the pictures in the thread using the Yellow Mountain Picture icon to insert them in the thread and then have the voting for Pen 1, pen 2, pen 3 etc.
Please do not use thumbnails if at all possible.

Its time to post your contests rules. If you need an example from last year and cant find one or you need any help at all let me know.

I'm on the road. For anyone who cares and wants to send a little sympathy my way, riding the bike thru this **** :cool: ***** heat is like riding thru a blast furnace. I'd ride at night except for two things - a) you can't see the things that are the whole reason for riding and b) the boss said "NO!". Mysteriously :confused: the intercom broke a few miles back. She's getting dropped off at her sisters soon.
I'll get my contest posted when I get back in about a week. This will give all of you suck-ups who already have yours done (you know who you are!!!!) a chance to get a head start because you know you'll need it (yes, the heat is taking it's toll on my normally sunny disposition).

My rules are up for review and comment.

UBB code must not like embedding lists within lists. I had to give up on that formatting.
 
Those of you that have not posted rules need to do so I would like to start posting them for public input over the weekend. Bob hope you had a safe trip.
 
No one has volunteered to run it as of now. Im about to start posting contest rules to the Activities Managers Forums for comments.
 
I have just now volunteered to run both the pen box contest and the pen stand contest. That means I will be running three contests - and I will be moving in August as well....

First you want us to write the rules. Now you want us to answer questions. What's next? I suppose you're going to want us to post pictures and set up polls and other such nonsense!:eek:
 
Already I am asking for changes! I don't think I'll hassle Mike too much, he will, I am sure do plenty to help me out.

Now Derek, that's another story completely.

Mine are good to go. Decided not to modify the kitless instructions.

Sorry about jumping the gun with my post trying to peak some interest.

Want to kick me off the team? Turns out I'm moving this month as well as spending a week taking my daughter to Cleveland (I know, who would want to move to Cleveland???)
 
IF you think that you will not be able to monitor the contest and post pictures and a Poll in the time frame needed we can find someone to step in. Just let me know.
There is nothing wrong with trying to promote your contest.
 
Nah, I arranged the ending of my contests to be able to post the polls before I leave on my trip to Ohio (is there a stop at Berea in my future???). The daily teases will be a nice distraction.

Will the one in the planning forum be the one Jeff copies, or the one you posted for member review?

Either way, I have a few tweaks to make, which I'll do tonight.
 
He will be copying the rules in the planning forum. If all goes well you will each have a forum for your contest and will be able to moderate it.
