Don't know the wood. The top is american style pen with cap and the bottom is a pen utility kit with philips and straight slot along with the pen.

Very nice work on these two pens! The top looks like a nice crotch walnut, especially with such an open grain, and the bottom looks like teak. Of course, you have to watch my opinions on wood like a hawk--color-blindness can be a bit misleading!

Thanks for all the nice comments. I did veriufy that the utility kit pen was teak, thanks Lou. Bill, yes, it did come with a pen but a very small one. Also it came with tweezers which I forgot to mention. And Jim. as Bill said, the hardest part was to put the parts together. There was a lot of parts. I have just one more kit and I don't think I will get any more.
