Well I got a few more pens done. 1st one is the infinity and is made out of stabilized double dyed green/yellow buckeye burl with 20 coats of CA finish.
2nd Baron made from black and white tru-stone with matching stylus.

Thanks for looking!

Newbie here... just wanted to say that seeing beautiful pens like these are the reason I got in to this...(Actually turned my first pen tonight)

wow...your pens are stunning...

Really good job on both. I like the green buckeye burl the best. Nice high gloss finish on it. Nicely done.

Awesome on both! I normally don't like the green dyed stuff but you made it look great!

Ya I'm not to keen on green either Joe but I thought I'd give it a try to see how it would look. Much to my amazement it turned out pretty good. The picture don't do it justice but there is incredible detail in the grain!

Thanks!

Thanks much guys for the kind words! I have another blank of the same wood but dyed red. Kinda anxious to make that one now!

Thanks again guys!

Dale,

How long are you waiting between CA coat applications?

I'm looking forward to seeing the Red one when its finished.

Twenty coats.....that's a bunch of CA! Thinking your not using the Accelerator on it, cause it doesn't look like it's super thick....

Scott (very patient for that finish) B

Hello Brian
I use thin CA. I let it set for 10seconds then spray accelerator.

I'm looking forward to doing the red buckeye too. I'm thinking either an Art Deco or possibly a gent. Not sure yet.

Hi Scott
Yes I do use accelerator, but I use thin CA.

Just an FYI I use Eric Anderson's CA finishing process.

I thought that the stylus and pen would be a good idea. Hope it sells!
