I'd be really interested in talking to someone who has one of these saws, especially with the thin metal blade.

I recently purchased some .020" thin wall silver tubing for use in accent rings in my pens and need a way of cutting very thin, approx .070" rings off with a minimum of waste per cut.

Proxxon is a well liked brand that is made in Germany.

I own a Proxxon mini jig saw for carving (ruining) hollow forms. It is a good tool, but the operator still has to learn how to carve.

I started a thread back in December (I think) about the PSI Mighty Micro saw. The general consensus was that it is significantly underpowered and that I would be disappointed in it. Better to scrimp and save for a better saw.

Got one and I am disappointed in it. IF I were in the States, I would be glad to ship it to anyone that wanted it. Works well only on balsa wood, and thin balsa at that.

I made my own saw table with a circular saw and can achieve some precision cuts.

Heh...I was all excited when I saw this subject line, thinking I could get an ultra-thin kerf blade for my 10" table saw...

Any takers on volunteers to stand in front of me when I buy a 10" x 1/16" blade and start hacking away at 3" depth of cut?

"Hey, look!! I think I found that grail everyone's always on about! Oh...wait...nope...just a regular old goblet..."

Ron, you're evil, I tell you!! [}:)]:D

The smallest kerf I can find here in carbide tipped is 1mm or .038 inch. I think 1/64 is .015 inch.

The blades that I get here are 5 inch diameter and depending on the saw that it is on, can cut up to about 1 1/2 depth.

Here is a saw similar to the Praxxon, but does not have the miter capability:

You can get and .02, .03. and .04 blade as well as an .046 and an .055 kerfed carbide blade.
