I recently put together a cartridge pen; however, I noticed that I forgot to put in a little copper sleeve that is needed for the click side to work. Is there anyway to take a pen apart without damaging it after it has been pressed together?

After assembling the Gatsby V2 pen, I cannot get the mechanism to work correctly, so have to just leave the pen tip out. When I screw the top mechanism in all the way, the tip goes out 3/8 of an inch and won't retract. I see a thread in December where someone had the same issue. There were about...
