mold making

I am just getting into making my own blanks. I'm looking for opinions regarding pros and cons of silicon and HDPE molds.

At one point online, I ran across a site that had a ton of different multi-cast molds that after casting both parts would result in a resin segmented style pen. For the life of me, I can’t find it now. There were over 10-20 different molds for casting…and my husband says if I can’t figure out...

I'm looking for molds, with cork ends, for PSI dragon twist pen. Anyone have instructions on how to make the molds? Can I buy them anywhere?

I received my gallon of Silmar41 today along with a set of transparent pigments from U.S. Composites. Was a little surprised that they are liquids. (which I guess shows how little I know):confused: Will these work and what should I expect for results or what should I be aware of for pitfalls...

Here's my first PR casting done using .44 cents Christmas Postage stamps. The mold use was a Thepenwizard by Joe Swall Gatsby Mold and I must say using this design with rubber stoppers on the ends of tubes is the ticket, Nice mold can't wait to try my cigar mold next, Comments welcome !!!:biggrin:

As promised, here are photos of the mold made. It was put in the car before it had properly set and was slightly unlevel. When I got home I put it on a level surface and filled the coffer dam thus leveling out the base of the mold. Worked great. You can see the additional silicone, it's the...
