I am tired of having taps, dies, and mills all over the place, and I am trying to organize them. I am having trouble finding the little plastic cases these come in without buying 10,000 of them. Does anyone know a USA source where I can buy them in small quantities and in different sizes?

Thanks!!

I have mine stored in small compartment tackle boxes, the Plano brand with dividers. I put the taps in the square Display Tubes (5/8 inch or 3/4 inch) that I buy from Penn State Industries. I put the dies (most of them anyway) in some small screw cap bead storage boxes that I bought from Walmart. (They are like these that I found on Amazon). - Dave

Harbor Freight has all kinds of organizers for such as taps, etc. Some have moveable partitions to customize for size. I have one for fishing tackle- hooks, sinkers, swivels, etc. Might check Dollar-and-a-quarter tree.

I 3D printed all the organizers for my drawers. I just need to find those little Tapco tap cases that they ship in that fit in my drawer organizers. Maybe I can print those as well. I am also considering leaving them out of the cases. I am in New England, shop rust from humidity is not really an issue for me and I don't anticipate anyone beating up on them.

I have been super busy organizing and turning pens for our Pens For The Troops project so my 3D printer has been idled for a bit, but prior to that I had started to do some GridFinity organizers for one of the mini Harbor Freight tool boxes that I thought would be a perfect home for all my taps and dies. The box seemed to be the perfect safe place as well as something I can take with me when needed.

Anyone else using one of these small tool boxes? Tool Box

I actually looked at that box when I started on this organization project. It was a little small for me. I got a 25% off coupon in my email for Harbor Freight, so I picked up one of their wood boxes ($89 retail). I was skeptical about the quality, but it seems pretty good compared to my much more expensive Gerstner box(smaller one on left) and allows some room to put in a drawer of organized mandrels, mills, and extra drills. I'm happy with it for this purpose. I 3D printed inserts for each drawer.

@hooked - that is a pretty nice solution! Transportable too.....which is why I thought about the smaller box. I'm going to take a look at that box next time I am in the store.....might be handy to have a bit more space, as I typically have things in multiple draws and have to gather stuff for events.
