We are all aware of athletes warming up for an event. Noted woodturner, John Lucas, made a video regarding skew exercises after a time off while working full time. I have loads of scrap wood for practice. However, I was going through some odds and ends of synthetics (generic term) and found a blank that was way oversize. It would allow lots of practice before getting down to the tube. Getting ready to head to the shop, warm up and get ready to turn some pens.

I fully agree that some 'practice' is time well spent getting the muscle memory back on track as well as getting the chisels back into sharpness.
