A family friend has a son attending U of AL. She asked me to make him a pen, whatever I could come up with.
He's part of the eco car project so I thought it would be fun to explore that. I cast the blank to match the car's color and engraved and color filled the departments logo.
The second was made to match school colors. Again, engraved and color filled with acrylic paint and finished with gluboost to seal it.
The third was made to represent him being part of the rocket club where he helped build the rocket structure. I also engraved his name on a small part and embedded it in the design.
All were dressed on diamond knurl ballpoints from Exoticblanks. The first and last pen sets I used a punch rod and hammer to disassemble them and swapped parts, press assembling them back together with some blue loctite, to make something different.
Thanks for looking!
