My son asked for a Fountain Pen for Christmas and picked the blank and hardware. I wish the pictures really showed how amazing this piece of wood is.

That is a beauty! You can't go wrong with Rosewood. I ran your pic through my filters to show its swirling grain. . .

Beautiful. I have one of those "super AAAAAA grade exhibition quality" HRB blanks that CSUSA was selling for like $12. Even as an unpolished rectangle it's gorgeous. I'm not sure I even know what the pen is that would do it justice.

I just used the picture option filters on my I phone 14 plus. Nothing fancy, I just screen shot the picture, opened it in photos and went through the edit options to increase the "brilliance, shadows, and highlights.

Thanks - I've used those as well. Was just wondering if you had something more sophisticated that automatically worked well. Always more to learn! Merry Christmas!

It's beautiful! And great job on the finish! What wood is that? It looks like a Walnut/Cocobolo cross...not quite a walnut burl.
