Richard Findley recently posted a YouTube video of making snow people from a spindle, between centers, with just a skew.

Richard Findley Snow People

Below are my attempts. They are made from native Colorado Aspen.

I hand-painted them and finished with a couple coats of gloss spray lacquer.

Well, I just tried my hand at a slight variation, my first endeavor that isn't a pen. Found an old (s)crap chunk of 2x4, rip prof it in half and squared it to 1 1/2" and went to town, using Mr. Findley's video as a guide to the top half, and somebody else's for the bottom to make it free standing instead of hanging. I need to make a few minor tweaks to the measurements, and definitely work on my skew skills, but for a first attempt/POC, it didn't come out too bad.
