Made this pen for a dear friend of mine that lives in Branson and does a Johnny Cash Tribute show down there. He is one of the nicest people I have ever met! He took me and my family out for Ice Cream and roller skating when we were down there this October. This is a thank you gift.

Top is Ebony (I will watch it for a week or so hoping it doesn't crack before I send it on)
Bottom is Bethlehem Olive Wood

It is the 10th pen I have made so far since getting into this addictive hobby. :p

Kind regards,
Chris

Looks good! Got to agree with you on how addictive this hobby is. For me I think it's how much I love turning the blank down and watching as the grain pops when I apply a finish.

100% agree! It is therapeutic when you get that blank turned down to a cylinder and the ribbons appear to be effortlessly curling off as you move the chisel along the blank. I am finding that wood turning gives me incredible relief from the stress of my corporate job!

Definitely is a great way for me to blow off stress too. I got really busy for a few weeks and couldn't turn and then this weekend I finally shelled out some time and it was spectacular.
