I love ExoticBlanks, and have never been anything but happy with what I've ordered from them. But I cracked up looking at this. Either pen technology has advanced in new and mystifying directions in the last few days, or the marketing intern cut some corners on QA before publishing this one ;)

The 3 pens on the bottom left center all appear to be made of some sort of futuristic technology. 2 have odd tips and one seems to have a floating clip. The a in exotic blanks is also a different color than the rest of the words

When I first looked at this yesterday I was not understanding what the issue was. I tried working out the math of the discounts and didnt find anything odd about them. I just shrugged my shoulders and went on with my surfing.
Now that some other have piped in I see what the OP is possibly talking about but it's not really that big a deal to me. The different color "a" is so you can see it on the dark background it is printed on (notice the top left of the "n"). The "futuristic" pens are not that big a deal either because I've made a pen from a kit that looked very much like what is shown in the ad. I don't remember the name of the kit but I have attached a few pics.

They should've just made all the letters lighter then, just changing one is tacky

It's really just this. Clearly AI image generation invented some odd looking "pen-like" objects, as well as a type of blank that seems to seamlessly meld from a reddish wood into a black non-wood. I got a laugh out of it. Particularly the one on the left that looks like a fountain pen after sitting in a crucible for a a few minutes. It's okay if you didn't think it was funny.

... I have attached a few pics.
This is the first I've ever seen a hooded nib in a kit. I know you said you don't remember the name of it, but if you can recall any details of where you got it or where I might find one, I'd be very interested.

Maybe, it is an exaggerated, playful way of presenting mixed and matched kits - as in mixing-up the components. In other words, you don't need to buy X number of the same kit to enjoy the discounts.
