About ten years ago, I was deeply impressed by an artisan in a small town in Myanmar who created beautiful work using eggshells, wood, and natural resin. Ever since I began making pens, I've wanted to experiment with similar techniques. Over the years I've tried different approaches—some with success—but I've always been searching for a way to create more robust and consistent pens with eggshell. This is my latest effort. The interesting fact of these blanks is that the eggshells are evenly distributed in the cylinder of the blanks in a flat pattern.

It appears you painted the background black then coated the barrel with an adhesive such as CA and applied the egg shell one piece at a time. A variation on other crushed mineral inlays such as crushed opal or turquoise.
