In the past, I have bought some HSS flat bars and square bars for a couple of tools. A search on Amazon shows a limited number of sources for flat bar stock. Anyone have other sources? TIA.

Most of that kind of stuff I buy from McMaster-Carr "Carbon Steel Bar Stock" or from Grainger "Inch Carbon Steel Flat Bars".
I don't know how they compare for price with the suppliers that sell on Amazon though.

I am waiting right now for a few pieces of 3 x 12 x 200 mm HSS bar stock sold by Uxcell to be delivered by Amazon to make some captured ring tools out of. First time I have ever tried making my own from scratch. Going to use them to demonstrate making the tool at my turning club. Will let you know how this goes.
