Hi all,

I am close to retiring and inherited some equipment and I am excited to get involved. I live near Abilene, TX so if there is anyone close that can give advice I would love to learn.

Thanks

Congrats on your "soon retirement". I'm sure there's someone down there to lend some instruction. Don't hesitate to ask around here also. It's a friendly and helpful family.

Congrats. I'm in Lubbock if you ever want to come up. We have a great club that meets once a month also and you can learn a ton from them on stuff as well.

Congratulations. Retirement is awesome. Life goes on like bills and health issues but no ones breathing down your neck. I'm not close but I have a ton of advice!!! Of course it's all what not to do. There's plenty of information here on what to do or at least get started. Good luck and enjoy your time.

Welcome Elven

a wise man never tells his wife he's retired, he merely spends more time in the workshop ( quietly ) !😉

Otherwise you'll soon wonder when you found time to work

Welcome to your next "job". I have been retired for 20 years, and had great plans to make lots of sawdust. in my new basement shop Then the volunteer community found me! In many ways it was more fulfilling than my chemical engineering work, which I did mostly enjoy. So after 15 years of being retired, I retired from being "retired", and can now make as much sawdust as I want! I came to pen making about 3 years ago, and it was one of the best choices that I made, that and joining IAP 👍. I learn something new here every single day.
