My latest pen is shown below.

It utilizes a Pilot G-2, refill. Both the nib and finial are M10x1.0 threads. The body and cap are M-13x.8 triple lead.

The blank is one of Tim McKenzie's DiamondCast blanks.

Nice shape. I've been getting back into working on a rollerball.
Can I ask why you made the finial removable?
There's a secret. I wanted the ability to finely adjust the placement of the refill, so that the hole in the body doesn't have to be drilled to a precise depth.
I threaded the body from the top down quite a ways and used a set screw as adjustment.

There are still a few things to work out, but overall it is a success.
My next attempt will be to included springs, for an even finer and tactile feel.

Very interesting. I'm using a spring, to allow for variance. I was considering also adding a screw, that could be reached with a long slim screwdriver, for minor adjustments to the tension.
But that is still in the idea phase. LOL

My only problem with your design, is that for me, it is distracting with the line. It's something that will arise with most materials. Perhaps if you added an accent ring, it would give the line purpose.

It is a gorgeous pen though.

I think the line you are referring to is just part of the translucency of the blank. I cut a relief in the body, so the final threads don't bind. I am considering stepping down the threads on the finial to M9 x .75 and using that also for the inner screw.
