Continuing on my Japanese eyedropper kick - starting to refine my techniques a bit. This is also my first commissioned pen, which is quite exciting!
The cap, section, and eyedropper knob are made from black ultem. It's interesting to work with, definitely a harder plastic than acrylic or alumilite. The barrel is made from a Hunter Green demonstrator blank from the Pensmiths. The section fits a Bock #8 nib unit, I test fit & took photos with a Sailor KOP nib since the buyer is planning on using one of their own in this pen.
I switched things up and tried wet-sanding with Zona paper instead of Micromesh this time. I like it so far, though I'm considering getting one of the lathe buffing systems instead of polishing on a mandrel - it seems tough to get those last few radial scratches out!
Thanks for looking!
