It's good to see all you guys here. I saw some pens for sale in kickstarter. Is the Master Turner also from this forum?

Anyway I was just wondering if the forum still operates the same like before? Seems like tapa talk don't work with this forum anymore

Guys, I was just wondering if anyone has turned a pen with those micro lathe. I am thinking of getting back into the hobby and will need to get all the equipments again. And this micro lathe seems like it won't be taking up too much space. I have a ton of wood that I have collected over the years and it's be nice if I could use this small lathe.

Welcome back! Yes, I got my start with a micro lathe - the Taig. I bought one and lots of accessories in the States around Christmas of 2004 and put it in my suitcase and took it with me to Japan as I was living there at the time. I made pens for about 18 months until I returned back to the USA for a few months. Then purchased a Rikon midi lathe. The micro lathes work fine when one has nothing else or need something mobile, but there are lots of accessories with a midi that make it much easier for different situations.

ah, thank you very much. I prolly will start with that lathe cause its so small and easy to pack. Not that I'll be travelling and turning. Hahhaa. Next is to find all the blanks and pen kits. I'll post them if I manage to find any haha
