Wood is from an old urban tree that was killed by the Emerald Ash Borer. When I opened it up much of it was "olive ash" with the striped figure shown here.

It's not shown very well, but the lid is threaded.

The box was gifted to a friend who made me a pie in celebration of my birthday.

The box is finished with a couple coats of Watco Danish Oil and then buffed and waxed. It's approximately 3-1/2 inches diameter and 2-1/2 inches tall.

It just feels so good to give gifts away. I am working on a pen for my brother and one for his wife right now. No reason just gifting. Nice work on the box. Like the wood also.

Very nicely done. I really like the shape you gave it. I didn't know that Ash would take to thread cutting. Good thing to know.

Great attention to detail.

The grain lines up perfectly and the detail on the inside of the lid is a beautiful touch.

A lidded box for a pie seems to be a pretty sweet deal to me!
