This is a magnetic rollerball pen in chrome, with wavy clip, from Crooked Mill. The blank is a spectacular hybrid cast by my friend Dennis, that we're calling Parking Lot Green Onion. The wood is from a tree branch Dennis picked up at the Marriott. Green Onion refers to the green resin. The photos do NOT do it justice. I dry sanded it to 3000 grit, and finished it with Pens Plus. Very, very happy with how this one turned out.

I was very nervous turning the blank, as I was afraid the resin would explode. I used a round carbide cutter and took very light passes. Dennis was with me as I turned it, giving me light hearted encouragement. Success! Warning: LOTS of photos here.

For being more or less trash, i'm really impressed with the figure in this wood. Every pen we've turned with it has been impressive in its own way.

Very nice. The transition it went through from sanding/ polishing is impressive. - Dave
I was really sweating it. I was so afraid the resin would explode. I used a round carbide cutter and took very, very light passes. Fortunately, Dennis was here encouraging me. It took forever to turn it, I took several breaks. But I was so happy when it was done!

Yes, we've gotten 3 or 4 pens from the magic stick. Of course your casting prowess helped. But this last one is spectacular!
