Had a piece of Redbud wanting to jump on the lathe so got it set up & started turning. 1st pic is what showed up. Second set of pics is a piece of Pecan I wanted to turn to get the feel of how it turns. Ended up so neat I decided to play around with a piece of Black Walnut that was hanging around & this Dagger showed up. It's going out in the mail tomorrow to my Niece's son who thinks it's the coolest thing he's seen!

I'm (very) late to the party, but I had to jump in... I absolutely love the comment that this is "what showed up"... I'm still at the beginning of my lathe adventures, but... I'm at my most creative when I let the wood tell me what it wants to be :)
