Hello All, new to the IAP and pen turning. here are a 4 pens recently made as holiday/birthday gifts, i need to work on my photography a bit.

One made from bloodwood, the others are made from Bolivian rosewood. i've only turned about 8-9 pens and i'm learning a lot. IAP is a great wealth of information.

Thx for looking.

David

Welcome to the site. Nice way to introduce yourself with examples of your work. From what we can see looks like the fit and finish are well done and you even threw in some segmenting work. You are well on your way to a happy turning adventure. Good luck.

Thx John. i'm interested in more segmenting work and even getting into some casting. I have a pressure pot I need to setup.

Welcome. You are off to a great start! I really like that euro with the diagonal cut. What did you use for a finish?

There is definitely a lot to learn around here (and I'll never be done learning). I often find getting pictures that I am happy with is almost as challenging as making the pens, but there's a forum for that, too. :D

The common name is the Clown Killifish, or Rocket Panchax. Scientifically it's known as the Epiplatys annulatus. A freshwater tropical fish that comes from Western Africa. Get no larger than 2" (usually smaller)
Thanks for the info. I was into fresh water tropicals back in the 50's, sixties and 70's. Some day I'll tell you a funny story.
Thanks
