This is my first attempt at segmenting. Used stabilized maple burl, cobalt blue acrylic, and aluminum sheet. Learned a lot from this and think it will take a few more tries to work the kinks out to be able to make these efficiently. Learned not to use brad points drill bits as well as it would tear my segments apart in the aluminum sections.

First attempt? Looks more like you've done a lot of segmented work. Excellent all around

And we have another one who has come over to the Dark Side. 👹🤖👽🥷We welcome you and your entry level pen has been approved. We now expect to see more and more challenging entries as you climb the ranks. We want to see and hear about all failures as well as successes as you travel down these dark hallways of segmenting. Along the way you will have to step over some of the people who have tried but just gave up. 😂 The door that leads to the top of the mountain is a long ways away but it is reachable. Enjoy the journey. 🤞👍

Incredible job for your first attempt! My favorite segmented pens are ones that bring out the beauty of the wood more than the complexity of the segments, which yours does perfectly. I just made my first segmented pen yesterday, but seeing as it's wrapped up as a Christmas gift I'll have to wait to post a picture.
