This my first Panache kit and I really love the flair. I'm surprised I don't see this kit posted more often.

The instructions say to use a 6 x 1 x 1 blank but I got away with a 'proud' 3/4" blank. Had to be extremely careful at the base end with that size since you basically just knock the four corners off that end. Drilling dead center was also critical.

This novice learned so much at the MPG this past weekend. Special thanks to Mark Dreyer and his .89 cent tip - that saved this pen that had been in the "what am I going to do with this one" drawer.

Very well done. I agree this is one of those kits that does not get enough love. Probably because it is a desk pen and not so much a carry pen. I just got done making the same black kit and will post soon. Thanks for posting.

Thanks! Look forward to seeing what blank you use.
Oh it is a segmented one that no one has ever done here before. It came out quite nice. I am trying to wrap up a few more pens before I have to shut the shop down for the summer to get on with summer projects. Working on the inside of the house this year.

Looks great and that's a very nice finish! The Panache is a beast of a pen, isn't it? I made one for the PWP contest for the bash and also used a blank less than 1" for it. I still have another kit here, but haven't decided what to do with it yet.

Thanks for that - much appreciated!

I really like it and want to try the chrome kit next. I looked all over for larger blanks (1") and there are so fewer options versus the 3/4" which has so many attractive options.

I ordered a couple 1.5" blanks but they just seem too big and a shame to turn down to this size. Plus, this kit commands something fairly dazzling since you cannot not look at the profile.

While I enjoy the hat tip in the title - cannot see what I would have done. The pen looks great, the finish looks great and yes I love the component set. Overall fantastic pen. Well done. The added step of considering the component set finish during assemble sets this one off. Matches great.

Thanks Mark! I've only done about a dozen pens so far and have learned so much from your videos.

On this one, my glue locked before I had a stem inserted all the way. (Doh!). While I was watching one of your MPG videos this weekend you mentioned 'an .89 cent tip' which was to cut the stem and glue it in the other side. That was simple but brilliant advice and it worked out great. Going to try some Diamond Knurl pens next - they look so nice in your videos!
