I crosscut a couple of PenMakers Choice Legionnaire blanks and re-assembled the blank.
BullsEye Turning supply fountain pen or rollerball/gel kit requires 6" blanks.
Pretty easy kit to use since it only has 3 parts and comes with Bock nibs.
Final finish used Nexus 3, 2 & 1acrylic compounds, topped with RenWax.

The "grain" of the blank runs lengthwise. I cut the blank into 7/8" cubes, turned the "grain" sideways and glued the 7/8" cubes back into a full length blank. Since the blanks were only 5 inches, it took 2 blanks to get the 6 inches needed.

This is an image of the blank from craft supplies website before being cut into cubes.
