Yew root burl on deluxe cigar.

A friend is celebrating 5 year of being cancer free since being diagnosed 18 years ago, He has often admired the pens I make so I made him this deluxe cigar pen with yew root burl wood, and made him a case for it that threads apart in the center. The case is mahogany with a ring of black walnut in the center. The balck walnut was a redesign after I mis-cut the male threads in the mahogany, but I believe the case actually looks better for it.

I've learned that sometimes the "plan B" outshines the original idea I had on a couple occasions. Still makes me crazy before plan B makes itself known, but at least I know to look for the opportunity in it.
