Found this in a scrap pile..knot section of some nicely figured zebra. I filled in the voids with some Harbor Freight Epoxy mixed with pearlx pigments..Had to fill it a couple of times as new holes would keep poping up..Finished with ca/blo and dipped in magna sheild laquer

Wow... who would think that was made from stuff at HF. Excellent looking pen!

Yeah, the epoxy was only 87 cents a couple of weeks ago,:)
(I have the pressure pot etc but ran out of resin so I thought I would just color some epoxy and smear it into the voids)

The finish was given to me from a member of our turning club..It is Hood Magna Shield High Gloss Laquer..It is a pre cat laquer and dries in about 1/2 hr. You can recoat as often as you like..I do a quick ca finish first then dip once or twice..Then I just buff it out in a couple of hours
