Here is a chrome & Gunmetal Twist action pen made using Petoskey Stone.
300 million years old.

I got the stone off ebay for $15
Used drum sander to square an edge, cut using small bandsaw, drilled using cobalt drill bit , placed on pen mandrel and sanded it down to finished size using abranet . No chisels used.

I've got a few smaller Petoskey stones I collected last fall on a long weekend up North. That's a lovely example.
