Wood names

I have an unknown blank (dark brown with black lines) with a badly written name on it something like "CONOCOLIN" or "SONOCOLIN"

and a package of reddish/brown blanks with the word Sand. on it - maybe it just means sanded but maybe its a wood

Anyone want to make a guess?

If it looks like rosewood, it might be sonokelin.

Sandalwood ???

sonokelin - never heard of it and cant find much about it - it seems to be used for banjos etc. - but this image does look very like what I have

sandalwood - I never thought this was used for woodworking and I think of it as a softwood used for oil production. FOrm looking aroound it seems this cna cover a variety of spcies from differnet couontries and so far none of the images I found are a good match

Sonokeling rosewood, is plantation grown Indian Rosewood? The closest possible I can think of?
