Wood Info

Can anyone point me to a source for information on the different types of wood that we use for pen turning?

Looking for info such as.....scientific name, characteristics, .....the kind of information that you would put on the card that'w included (if you so wanted) with the pen you sale.

Looking to create a data base so that all I need to do is enter a number for the type of wood and all the information that's entered for it would be printed out on the form.

PSI also has a library of some different woods in the download section of their website. They certainly don't cover every wood type, they have some of the most popular domestic and exotic woods. They also have brief descriptions and they can be printed out as little cards suitable for including with the pens...
