I saw these in a book that I bought some time ago... finally took another look at the book and decided to try these turned wine stands... I have a show in a couple of weeks and hopefully these will sell well. These are the latest two I've completed. I haven't put any finish on them yet.. thinking I'll do a rattle can lacquer, but may go with a wipe on poly.

I apologize for the poor photos... I didn't set up my light tent, just quick shots on my desk... sorry for the clutter.. I operate on an organized chaos mode most of the time.

Huh, that's really cool! I totally want to make those! I think those would be very popular around here.

If you don't mind me asking...what is the angle at the base, and the inside diameter of that circle?

Thanks

Peter, the circle is 1 3/8 inside dia...it should be just about the size of the neck of the bottle at the shoulders..... the spindles for them are at 45 deg... the original plans called for the circles to be smaller than I made them. I think they were supposed to be about 3/8 to 5/8 diameter... some of mine are a full inch diameter.. the spindles are about 4 1/2 inches, but you need to adjust the spindle lengths depending on how fat you make the circles... the finial in the center is optional... The bases should be around 3 inches diameter... mine range from just under 3 to about 3 1/4 and about 1 to 1/2 inch thick..

We'll see if mine work as well as yours or if I have broken glass in my future...
