Great piece of wood on that bowl, mate...!
I get often attempted to turn some bowls from some of the limited burls I get from the area, as without a bowl corer, it just wastes too much good wood however, I may restrain from making big stuff but, every so often I grab a small piece and turn it as a small bowl or a box of some nature, just to admire the natural wood characteristics, after a nice finish to it...!
Your piece, is one of those type items the wife ends up with, when she least expects it...!
Put your to good use and, well done...!

This was finished with Daly's Pro Fin. I think it's akin to a wipe on poly but I haven't gotten the hang of consistent results with it, yet.

I like the shape, and the burn lines around the rim to show off the lip....very cool!!
