Which glue for pitchy pen blank?

A new question , which apparently no one can answer . Regardless of which glue may stick best to the pitch , I would suspect that the weak link will always be the shear strength of the pitch itself . If that is the case , it doesn`t really matter which you use . Unless the blank is 100% pitchy , I would think that any of the glues will have enough shear strength to resist the turning forces . If you are using bushings rather than turning between centers , that should definitely be true .

Marty, I would be more apt to treat it like an oily wood than try a pitch capable adhesive. Acetone might remove enough of the pitch just deep enough for a fast adhesive like CA or 5 min epoxy to bond with the wood. Lacquer thinner almost certainly would, but takes just a little longer to evaporate.
