Which end is the Nib end?

I have turned 4 Jr Gent I pens; and the kits have not been the same; there is about a .020" difference on the diameter of the rings on the ends. Two of the kits had the larger ring on the Nib end, and the other two had the smaller ring on the Nib end.

The instructions I have I cant read that well, and the other instructions I have found make no mention of which end goes where.

Does any one know which end is supposed to be the Nib end (Small or Large)

I know the longer thread goes on the Nib end, but the Rings are interchangable, and they will go on either coupler.

Nib end is the larger .511 lower finial is .480

You don't say whether the kits are roller ball, ball point, fountain pen or pencil.

I'll assume RB/FP as they're prob the most common.

The one end should be .480 and the other .511 (small tube) when completed. The nib goes in the .511 side

The large tubes, when completed, should be .567 on both ends and either clip or centre band can go in either end.
