whats the best way to cast coffee

i tried to cast some coffee beans they seam to float to the top of the mold is there a way to stop this?

I use a piece of glass with mold release sprayed on it.

I don't know how others do it but I fill the mold with beans, tap it down lightly, pour the mix. I have some a waxed quart milk carton (we still get them here) - and cut them into rough sizes to fit over the top of the mold. I then weight it down. Usually the mix does stick to the beans but it doesn't hurt anything as it either pulls off sometimes or it comes off when turned.

I fill the mold with the beans and put masking tape to hold them down until it cures.
