Can anyone tell me what kind of wood this is???
It has no discernable smell when being worked with. Other than the spectacular red streaking that these pictures really don't show, there is nothing remarkable about the grain patterns. I found this wood on the side of the road. Apparently this was the base of a tree that the homeowner cut down.
Is it possible that working this wood would cause me to sneeze and snot all over the place? :crying:It seems like a typical allergic reaction like I have when exposed to grass or tree pollen. My future SWMBO says I should get rid of thjs wood. I have 3 more pieces that are about 10" round and 8-10" thick. I hate to think that I have to give this wood away, BUT........ if it is making me sick, then I might have to get rid of it.
