This is the masur birch pen that I made and finished with WB laquer on Sept 10. It has been my own personal pen and and I have purposely abused it to test the finish. I write with it every day. Quite often with very dirty hands in my shop. I have had a LOT of other people handle it and I have purposely dropped it down on a table or floor many times just to see how much abuse it would take. Here is the same pen today. Very little difference than when I first made it.
This has not been waxed or polished in any way. I just took it out of my pocket and took the picture.
Just thought some of you might be interested in seeing that.

Thanks, I DO like seeing this! Other than the fact it is a very good looking pen, the report of an alternate durable finish is good news indeed!!

Thanks for testing and sharing this with us. I too am looking for that durable finish for clients who like a shiny pen that stays shiny. I will admit, I have yet to try the WB laquer finish. You may have moved me to getting some and giving it a whirl.
Thanks,
Mike L
